The Balance Sheet report provides a snapshot of your financial position at a specific time, detailing your assets, liabilities, and equity. This guide explains the structure of the report and how to make the most of its features.
Report Structure
Columns: Represent accounting periods by month (e.g., Jan 2024, Feb 2024, Mar 2024).
Rows: Display ledger accounts categorized into Asset, Liability, and Equity Accounts based on your Chart of Accounts for example:
Asset Accounts:
100: Total Assets
1000: SAFE-WALLET-01
1100: SAFE-WALLET-02
1200: SAFE-WALLET-03
1300: SWAP CLEARING
1350: INTERNAL TRANSFERS CLEARING
Liability Accounts:
200: Total Liabilities
2000: Card Payable
2100: Loan Payable
Note: The above structure is for example purposes only. You can fully customize your ledger account structure in the Configure > Ledger Accounts section.
๐ฅ Important: Balance Sheet balances are cumulative, meaning the ending balance of one period automatically becomes the beginning balance of the next period. Therefore, accounting periods must be closed for this to function correctly.
Report Filters
Legal Entity: Select the legal entity to filter the report by ownership.
Accounting Periods: Choose specific months or ranges to display relevant period columns.
Tags: Apply tags to filter the balance based on specific projects or categories.
Interacting with the Report
Using Filters: Adjust the report view by selecting the entity, periods, or specific tags.
Viewing Details: Click on a balance within a period <> ledger account cell to view the transactions contributing to that balance.
Exporting Data: The detailed panel shows all journal lines that impacted the account balance during the selected period. This information can be exported for further review. You an also download the entire report which will span across all period and balances.
